Birthday for Major William Bradford

June 17, 1624, Major William Bradford, son of Governor William Bradford of Plymouth Colony was born. What a day to be born on. Usually sunny, rarely raining and falls side by side to Father's Day. According to Henry Whittemore writer of the Signers of the Mayflower, Major William Bradford was next in line to Miles Standish. Major William Bradford was involved in fighting at the Narragansett Fort fight during the King Philip's War. He was severely wounded with a musket ball. During this battle around one thousand Native Americans died.
